No need for a huge fresh ham? Our sliced center cut hams are great for the smaller gathering. The taste and flavor is big and the leftovers small enough to manage. We raise all our pigs here at the Lazy B Farm. They arrive when they are piglets and we care for them and play with them till they are large enough to be processed, approximately 300 pounds. They are fed all our scraps from the house, the orchard and the garden. The chickens aren't real happy when they pigs are here! We also supplement with a non-medicated pig feed. Our pigs live as naturally as possible and are certainly loved by the whole family while they are here at the farm. Lazy B Farm pork is unique in that it gives twice. First, our pork provides great quality food for you, the customer; secondly, when you purchase our pork, you help to provide nutritional, local beef to our Georgia school cafeterias. A percentage of this purchase will fund "Cows in the Cafeteria," a grass roots, non-profit program that purchases steers from area farmers, processes the beef into hamburgers under the Lazy B Farm label and then donates them to a local school cafeteria. We really appreciate you buying our all natural pork and for helping to provide nutritional, local beef for the children in your community.

This Bella Blue ("Self Heal" is the common name) Grandiflora just sprouted forth after overwintering in a pot, and she's putting out the flowers! Here in the Deep South, she'll need filtered light instead of direct hot sun. The flowers attract butterflies and will continue into the heat of the summer, when they rest to come back full-force in the fall until frost. The foliage develops as a low mat of no more than a foot high. It's good as a border, edging or container plant. They do tolerate hot and droughty conditions, as long as they are in some shade throughout the day.

Fresh bunch of radishes just now ready to pick for "baby" greens. Raised in the hoop house, they've been protected from this crazy weather & are tender as can be. Radish Greens, which boast the majority of the nutritional value of radishes & are a close relative of Swiss Chard, have lots of flavor and a good, sturdy texture. They substitute easily for Swiss Chard, Spinach and Turnip greens. A good source of vitamin C, folate and vitamin K they may also aid in digestion and help flush toxins from the body. COOKING: sautee them in olive oil with garlic, eat them raw, pickled or braised. The greens taste almost like a sorrel. Radish green and potato soup is fantastic. They are also a welcomed addition to vegetable juice!

Yummy berries from early summer to fall, with the heaviest crops in June and from August until frost. Easy to care for, they just need a sunny location, and a yearly pruning to keep them under control.Red raspberries are prolific growers -- We find that three plants spaced about 3 feet apart are enough to give us fresh berries in our cereal or fruit salad over most of the summer. For easiest picking, we like to tie the long canes to a wire strung between two posts. When a given cane is done producing fruits, we cut it off at the base.
