Covenant Family Farms

Covenant Family Farms had it’s beginnings in 2010 when the Whitehead brothers, Daniel and Ian began preparing to grow grape tomatoes for the wholesale market in Atlanta area Whole Foods stores. Recently we have expanded to provide a supply of fresh vegetables to our local community. Robert is an eighth generation Northeast Georgia native.

Historically, Covenant Family Farms was part of a community of hilly orchard country with old peach and apple trees and blueberry bushes on the hills and walnuts in the low creek bottoms. We can see the Blue Ridge mountains from on the farm on clear winter days. Today, the farm is 62 acres of woodlands, pasture, fields, orchard and creek bottom in Pocataligo Community in northern Madison county. We are growing grape tomatoes and are enlarging our garden plots to include many varieties of vegetables for our community. We are also starting to plant blueberries, and are planning to renew some of the orchards by planting apples and raspberries. Our plans are to expand our vegetable plots to 7-10 acres and our orchards to a portion of the farms hill side acres.

We believe that we are stewards of the resources entrusted to us and are responsible to our neighbors. Local, sustainable agriculture and healthy food for our friends and neighbors are part of how we can be stewards of what God has given us.
