ALG CLOSED This Week!

This post expired on February 12, 2024.

Hello, all. I’ve been closely watching the weather forecasts for the next few days, and they’ve only gotten more dire as the day has progressed. Parts of our area may get over a foot of snow and others may get an inch and a half of ice accumulation. The Winter Storm Warning has been extended through Thursday evening, and there is no possible way we can hold market as scheduled.

The roads may not be passible until Friday, and the area power utilities are talking about power outages lasting a full week or more. The uncertainty of when things might return to normal has led me to decide to call off market entirely rather than try to reschedule everyone for a different day.

We’ll open again for ordering Sunday night for pickup on Thursday, February 20th.

I’ve never closed our market before on account of weather, not even on the Thursday when Hurricane Ivan was battering us in 2004. But it looks like we’re in for a rough one here, and everyone needs to stay home, stay safe, and stay warm. We’ll see you next week!
