Harris' Hot Peppers

We love spicy food but were unable to find organic hot peppers in stores, and unable to find certain varieties at all. Since hot peppers are one of the dirty dozen and we love trying new varieties, we decided to start growing our own. We even grow the legendary Ghost Pepper. We are a small family garden and we don’t use any harmful chemicals or pesticides, just water and compost. We want our toddler to be able to safely play in the garden, even if she’s not quite ready to eat the hot peppers yet!
Be careful when cooking with some of our hotter peppers, the oils are hard to wash off your hands. With the really hot ones, we recommend using gloves to cut them. If you do get the oils in your eyes or the taste proves to be too much, milk or other dairy is the best thing, not water.
